Varlam, the despotic mayor of a small town, dies. After his funeral, his body is repeatedly unearthed and buried again. Through flashbacks and dreamlike scenes, we witness his rise, power and ambiguities. _____ I've had the honour to have been called to edit the official trailer for Tengiz Abuladze's film Repentance, which was polished, renewed and chosen for the 2021 Cannes Classics Official Selection. This film is one of the most important films in Georgian cinematic history, not only that, but it also depicts one of the most important aspects of the history of Georgia. It is an artistic masterpiece and working on this film is not something I would have ever imagined or dreamt of.
